Randomly died in traffic, will not start again.

Yesterday I was driving home and while sitting at a stoplight my engine just died. Tried to restart, but all it did is crank and occasionally burp a little like it wanted to start. Towed it back to my shop. Today I checked for spark and seemed to be getting good spark. Sprayed ether into the cylinders and put all the plugs back in but still no start. Not really sure what direction to go next? HELP.

Also Ive been driving the car for the past 10 months with not one single issue, never stalled, acted up at all....

Check your relays, main relay and fuel pump relay.
After that check your fuel pump and CPS.

try cranking the engine, pull the spark plugs out and check if they are wet with gasoline. if they are dry, then you have issue with fuel delivery.

Checked fuel pump and its vibrating while cranking so I'm assuming its pumping properly lol.

Does anyone have a picture or schematic of which relay is which?

Give the fuel pump a good tap with your fist, then try to start it.

Are the plugs wet with fuel after cranking?

Yes plugs are wet and I already said the fuel pump vibrates when I crank it so I'm assuming it working?

Well if you have fuel and spark it must be running really lean to the point it wont idle, or really rich that it can't ignite. I would start looking at your AFM and maybe your a/f sensor

How would I go about diagnosing if the MAF is malfunctioning or not?

Don't know besides swaping it out for another one. unless your are gd with electrontics hook up a multimeter then open the barn door in the AFM and see what the readings are.

Whats the possibility of the fuel filter being clogged? Easy cheap fix, probably do that tomorrow and see if it makes any difference.

hello all - should I hear or feel the fuel pump when turning car on and or cranking the engine?

Mine died in traffic but restarted then the next day and each time I have tried it this weekend it just cranks and cranks...

I took bench off and the passenger side access panel off - the pump dies make noise and cannot feel anything

I have checked fuse 11, 9 and the 2nd relay under the black cover...all seem to be good. Tried replacing with known good and still no sound or start

Anything else to try? Is the pump bad if I cannot hear or feel it?

oh yea, i have unplugged and replugged the pump (if that is the one under the passenger side access)

I have tapped it, banged on it with fist - still nothing
