    m42 tuning?

I currently own a 87 325i, I am getting a good deal on a m42 to swap in. Figured why not. I've heard some people doing cheap turbo swaps. ( my best friend owns his own mechanics garage) So as a quick project I figured why not. We are going to fab everything up ourselfs, but I'm running into the issue for tuning. What does everyone use to tune these things? I know there are a few stand alones out there that range in the 1/2k range but anything cheaper?

If you're going to halfass it, halfass it right! Keep the boost pressure low (<5psi), use the stock Motronic system, and upgrade the injectors.

When I say half ass I just mean not a full detailed build. I am currently working on a few expensive projects, and just wanted something fun for the summer while those took place. I am eventually swaping a ls1 into my 325, but as you can imagine the cost on that is quite extensive. I figured I could do this turbo build under 2k. It seems very achiveable talking to people that have done it.
