    HELP!! disconecting shift linkage

Any help on how to disconnect the aluminum shift console from the transmission would be greatly appreciated.

Trying to get the transmission off to replace my clutch and finally be able to drive this thing!

    it's called the "bitch clip"

    short-ish, flat blade screwdriver

you want to slide the blade, front-to-back, under that clip - to pull it upward - and release it.

handle to front of car - blade parallel with ground. Squirm it into a position that puts the blade in the channel of linkage position arm - and under the lip of said "bitch clip"..

I got it off using that flathead screwdriver method. Kind of a pain getting your hand up there. Thanks for the advise idk how I would've gotten it off without doing that.

Now on the the transmission bolts... The top bolts sound like they are going to be a PITA

A couple of 12" extensions and a universal joint will do the trick.
