    Strange Power Loss

Just now when I was coming home from class and pretty soon after starting my drive, I was leaving from a stop and there was almost no power. Engine was running fine but when I pushed the gas nothing was happening felt like driving through deep mud...

It went away after I had momentum. It came back when I had to start from a stop but not every time.

No other signs except maybe a weird smell? Burning/fuely smell?

I've had a 1222 CEL code, it usually doesn't come up but has come up a few times since owning the vehicle.

Any ideas what would cause such a loss of power? It felt as if fuel wasn't getting to the engine or something?

Well my fuel pump is leaking heavily through the top, issue possibly found?

Does the fuel need a perfect seal to create pressure? (I'm just guessing a reason why it would cause the driving issues)

Whether the leaky fuel pump is the issue or not is totally immaterial at this point. It is a HUGE safety risk and you should fix that before doing anything else!

Did you take off with it in third gear instead of first?

Actually Nitro I thought about that when it first happened. I said shit, did I throw it in third?

But it came up a few times and threw a CEL as well. I'm pretty certain it was my fuel pump issue that caused it.
