    Quick Qustion For California Member, Need Answered PLEASE!

    Will a stock M42 with a "After Marker" (car still has o2 and cat) header pass smog?
    Car is clean no leaks bone stock except OP installed a header a d K&N filter pod.

    Mostly worried about the inspection.

      M42s come with long tube headers stock. So I'm not sure how the smog guy would know the difference

              The rice filter might get you to fail the visual inspection, depending on the shop. You should stick a stock air box in there with a good paper filter anyway...same or better power and less dirt getting into your engine.

              As for the header, you should be fine. Can you get a picture of it? The stock one was pretty good and I know that a number of people have mistaken it for after-market because it is not common to see those on production cars!
