Mine was a bad oil pump

It has like one moving part. How does an oil pump fail?

It breaks or grinds down the teeth causing a drop in pressure happened to my old engine with over 400k

Generally oil pumps stop working after the clearance between the lobes of the "sprocket" and the out case get too wide. they should only be a few thousandths of an inch. Any more and the pump can't compress the oil and pump it. Easy check would be to throw an oil pressure gauge on and see what the pressure is. Should be somewhere around 63 psi at higher engine speeds.

Nope my car ticked like a muthafucker i installed new vw lifters timing was correct. imy car wouldnt tick all the time hust most of the time. Everythung was nrw except the oil pump i mean the engine had over 400k. Installed low mileage engine no more tick

so i started to go for the oil pump, taking everything off and stuff and found out that my main bearing took a dump on me and my 4th rod bearing spun, this is lame. well i guess here comes a full rebuild of my m42 lol
