    M42 engine install

I purchased a 1991 318i back in the fall with the engine pulled out due to bad crank. I just bought a long block to put in it, which I will be picking up tomorrow. Just wondering if there is anything special I need to be careful of when I put the engine in? Any tips from guys that have done it?
I have done engine drops before, just not in a BMW, so any tips or suggestions would be appreciated!

    Thanks!

    Sounds like you'll be fine.

Replace hard to get to seals before you install! Putting an m42 in is no biggie. I put mine in as a first timer by myself so if you've done swaps before I think you will be all good!

Yeah I'm planning on doing all that before the drop, including crank bearings, to replace the 180 trust bearing.

            Thanks!
