smoke. lots of smoke

Shoot, could be lots of things. Failing coil pack, wire or spark plug. TPS or AFM or even a leaky injector. I always start with the simple things then work my way up. Swap some known good parts to test out. I'm no professional though.

how much smoke are we talking about here? does it smoke like a diesel? like a huge cloud or what.

maybe a 2 foot wide visible in my rear view. not black as in can't see through black but transperent black sort of thing if you get what i mean

if thats the case, would my car be running rich alot? don't particularly want to be using more fuel then i have to.

lately i've noticed when i floor it in gear 1 or change from 1st to 2nd at the redline i blow a fair bit of smoke out the exhaust.
the first time it happened i slowly revved to 2k in 1st and then planted it which made me think it could be running rich maybe if the AFM was blowing open very quickly?
I'm not loosing oil quicker then usual and there is no smoke during normal driving or at idle.
Any ideas?
