M42 block

Decided to check if the crank on a m42 block I got was good. Everything looked fine till I pulled off number 4. Crank toast?

will your fingernail catch on the crank anywhere on the journals? 1 looks like its got some wear as well.

fwiw you can be out +/- a few thousandths and make up for it in main bearings. If your finger nail catches the metal on the surface its probably somewhere around 2 thousandths deep.
From what you have here it looks useable but it will need some work.

edit. looking at the thrust journal you may have some decent wear there right in edge of the journal. It might be able to be saved but then again another crank is cheap.

All feel smooth except 4. Seems like a grove in the side. I have another crank I'm going check tomorrow. Hopefully its better than this one.
