    M42 Motor Mounts

Long story short, my car vibrates pretty bad and my mounts do not look very good at all. Anyways I was wondering what experiences people had with these aftermarket mounts, or is it worth it just to pay the $160 at the dealer for two new stock mounts? I am not going for performance or anything, just comfort. Has anyone tried the Hamburg Technic Mounts? Pelican gives them 2/5 thumbs up...

I replaced mine with OEM... Just bite the bullet and get stock ones. I've heard folks say that after market ones increase the engine vibrations. I have no experience personally wit them though.

go stock. they are liquid filled to dampen vibrations. on top of that the M42 isn't the smoothest engine out....

I tried using green E28 M5 mounts and I hated it. They made the entire car vibrate pretty bad. I switched to brand new OEM mounts and its been much better

I use the green e28 mounts and enjoy the direct feel they give. I'd say the vibrations added are noticeable but not bad at all if you don't mind a little rumble under you ;)

Go OEM. Anything else will make the car vibrate like crazy.

FWIW M10 mounts are direct bolt in and cheap if you want to try them out!

+1 for E28 mounts. So much cheaper and they handle the m42 so well. A small noise increase, but no complaints.

                I use solid mounts :D

                There is some vibration.

the M42 going into my e21 will have e28 mounts.

                lol...
