    car feels like it's choking.

So after replacing a bunch of parts, the car is driveable and will hold idle. however, power is down, idle is rough and sometimes it just bogs when you apply throttle. in addition the exhaist smells really rich. car also takes longer to crank after sitting than when it is hot. This suggests to me i have a fuelling problem. so far i have added:

    New ngk plugs
new TB Boot (old one was ripped)
    used ICV
    new Coolant temp sensor
    new intake manifold gaskets
    new air filter
    cleaned AFM
    Mess under the Intake deleted
    new plastic coolant pipe
    used TPS

I have a new water pump and thermostat and fuel filter that i havent installed yet.

Right now i suspect leaky injectors or FPR problem. What do you think?

if you suspect its an injector problem, upgrade the injectors to 4 pintle ones from ford. bosch part No. 0280155700

I definitleythink it fuel related. Pulled
The vacuum hose off the FPR and that seemed to steady the idle. Does this point to the FPR as the culprit or is the change in pressure masking some other issue like injectors pr O2 sensor?

          also check:

          C191 connector under your intake
          Main relay
          Fuel relay
          cap and rotor

Check the FPR by doing a fuel rate test as per Bentley....

I would do a stomp test to see if any codes come up as well.
Perhaps even smoke test your engine to check for vac leaks.

A bad ECU will also cause the issues you're having.

          Start form simple/cheap to complicated/expensive....

            Update

I pulled the plugs to have a look. 1,2 and 4 were covered on black soot as i would expect for rich running. But 3 was pretty clean and came out wet with gas. Im starting to lean towards a leaky injector being at least part of the problem. The car also could have an ignition problem. The only code it is showing is 1222 lambda/o2 sensor which is just telling me its running rich whic i already knew. Im gonna get the fuel system checked out first. Then ignition and o2 and ecu as a last resort.

Pulled the injectora today. Yellow top 714. Single pintle. Other than being caked in carbon deposits, nothing obviously wrong with them. The whole manifold is caked with flaky and oily black deposits. Trying to clean them as best i can. I destroyed the plastic caps pulling them out. Is their anyway to flow test them or should i just buy new mustang injectors?

Everything is back together now with freshly restored 4 pintle injectors. the car idles pretty well now but when i quickly tap the pedal or when i accelerate and then lift off, the revs come down to low and it almost stalls before it catches and returns to normal idle around 700rpm. any thoughts?

                      update

fuel pump died today. nothing when i cranked it and nothing when i jumped pins 30 and 87 on the relay. is it possible my symptoms were caused by a slowly failing pump? i guess i have a bunch of new parts anyway!
