What is this sound? (Loud rattle)

Unfortunately this is the sound my car is currently making. On my drive back from Dallas on easter the noise started off faint, but by the following day is as loud as the below example. Just wondering if anyone has had this noise happen and knew what it was before I pull the motor and just go through the whole thing.

    Replace your timing chain tensioner.

    Or you spun a bearing.

If you are lucky, it is just the timing chain tensioning system. First step is to remove the tensioner piston and get a look at it / post a picture or two. If that checks out, pull the valve cover and look at things. Also drain the oil through a coffee filter or paint strainer as RedReplicant mentioned. Ultimately, you'll probably have to get into the timing case, assuming that it is where the issue is.

Yeah, my fingers have been crossed it's something in the timing case, but I know it's pretty much wishful thinking.
