My car has done this since I bought it - I've replaced the belts, AC idler pulley, all of the vacuum hoses, water pump, thermostat, pulled the clutch fan, etc. I can't figure out what it is.

A/C compressor, power steering pump or alternator. Remove your belts one at a time to see if the noise goes away. -
Not the compressor. I'll try the PS and Alt tomorrow but I'm guessing the alternator bearing now.91 318is - Gone

From the looks of things I don't have an M42 alternator in this thing and the pulley is misaligned by a fraction of an inch, so I'm sure that is a contributing factor.91 318is - Gone
