Water Pump composite or metal?

    Water Pump composite or metal?

    My alternator belt just snapped, so I plan on replacing all the accessory belts. I also thought it may be a good time to replace the water pump and thermostat as well. I'm not sure when the last time it was replaced. I did some reading and some say recommend the metal one and some recommend the plastic/composite.

    The two below seem to contradict each other so I'm not sure which one to go with.

    Pelican recommends the metal pump

    Also is there anything else you guys recommend I check/replace while replacing the belts?

      There is tons of information on this in the M42 section and on M42club.com. If you are replacing the waterpump (I prefer Graf) then it may be a good idea to do the hoses and thermostat. You'll need both gaskets for the respective housings and the correct coolant as well.

      Since I see you are a newb, welcome to R3V. You may get trolled if you haven't at least searched for answers FYI.

          oh, parts ... typically cheaper than both Pelican and Turner is Blunttech. You should give Steve a shout via email and he'll get you set up: steve@blunttech.com
