    MM Single Row Timing Chain

Im pulling my head/redoing the timing setup on my motor within the next month and was wondering if this is a mod really worth doing for the $350 that it costs.

Anyone have experience with it? (bmwman91?)Or should i just use stock components for half the cost.

I mainly did it because it was basically an incremental cost-adder to the overall engine build. That, and after all the trouble that the crappy stock E30 M42 timing setup gave me for years, I wanted to have the most reliable timing chain setup I could possibly get.

I say get an E36 M42 timing case and swap that in at the same time. The stupid deflector sprocket is a time-bomb on these engines. Swap in the later timing case that does away with it, replace all the guides and stuff, and put in a single row timing chain. $350 is a big expense to add to a timing rebuild, but you can at least sleep knowing that the chain is putting half the wear on everything.
