    New motor mounts, now vibration??

I just installed new mounts from pelican parts 2 days ago. They were oem replacement mounts, looked exactly like the oem.
As soon as I started the car I noticed something was different, just not the "different" I was expecting.
The car vibrates loudly at about 1,000 to 2,000 rpm, so not at idle and not at cruising, which is ok for now but really want this fixed.
Is there a break in period for these rubber mounts? So far I've put about 100 miles on them but very little if any improvement.

    Any insight is greatly appreciated!

Below is a picture of what I ordered, I confirmed the p/n with realoem.

How are the transmission mounts? I suggest doing them all at the same time. Had the same issue with my M44.

The PO replaced the trans mounts, they looked good on inspection.

MTC rubber components are known for their high-quality and durability (I'm being sarcastic, I've personally had a number of parts fail and no longer offer any to customers as dealing with returns on a failed part is aggravating).

I called pelican and was told the mtc was the same rubber as OEM so there shouldnt be any issue with MTC. Regardless I still went ahead and ordered the genuine bmw parts ($180??)
          Hopefully those work better.

With all due respect to the guys at pelican, it is no where near true (perhaps they were reading a description or telling you what their boss told you, so don't hold it against them). MTC has never been an oem supplier (nor have they been using the same "factory" as BMW's oem suppliers on rubber parts).

if you went with "genuine bmw" then great! If your problem persists at least you know it's not due to the mounts themselves.

You might also want to get under the car and check to see if the exhaust/cat is rubbing on a heat shield, or if the muffler tip is rubbing on the rear valence. Old motor mounts sag, and it might be that the new ones are taller and caused things to shift a bit.

Also check to make sure your subframe mounting tabs for the motor mounts are not cracked/broken. Common issue on m42 e30s

Thanks for the feedback! I'll have to wait a while to try out the new mounts as they don't carry them in stock.
I'll try to post results when installed. And I'll also check out the other mounting points. I believe the PO suggested replacing the rear subframe mounts but not sure that would cause the vibration I'm getting.

maybe the oil protector is too close to de oil pan and make the vibration.

Any news on this issue? I'm about to replace my motor mounts with genuine OEM ones. I had most all the bushings including subframe refreshed this last February, but forgot about the motor mounts.

I don't know if it's just in my head but I think the vibration improved somemwhat over the last month or so.

I still ordered true OEM mounts but just haven't had time to swap them out. Pelican parts was fine with me sending back for a refund so I have no complaints about pelican. I'm still a fan!
I'll try to update this post when I get the mourns swapped.

Stock factory M42 engine mounts are liquid filled, as far as I know MTC and other less expensive replacement mounts are solid rubber and will vibrate.

If you can live it, there is nothing wrong with them.

Correct. This is why the OEM fluid-filled mounts cost much more. They're worth it.

That's interesting because the OEM mount I received look exactly like the aftermarket.
