m42 idle problem cold

so my cars engine lights on. when I start the car up for the first time, it runs like shit.....however I just let sit there for a minute and its fine. on hot starts itll run just fine....only cold starts when it runs like shit. HELPPPP!

Code 1223 is coolant temp sensor fault OR a CTS wiring fault.

If coolant temp sensor is bad, this can be a big reason for you bad running issues at cold start up.
