    Starting issues.

    Hey guys.

I'm having issues with my 318i vert. I accidentally left the key in the on position over night and the battery died. I jumped it the next day and it started up perfectly fine but I don't think I let it run long enough to charge up the battery. I went to crank it today's and there wasn't enough juice to turn over so I decided to compression start it. Attempted and it didn't work. So I threw jumper cables on the car and now I can't even get the car to crank over. I can't even hear the started click. Anyone have a clue what's going on?! Starter bad? Starter relay? Ignition switch?

You ought to check total voltage at the battery both when flat and when being jumped.

Just for reference, BMW suggests pop starting the car in 3rd gear.

I'm constantly impressed by how many pairs of shitty jumper cables I own.

I think your battery is dead. And that the jumpers aren't carrying enough current.

      Got a charger?
