    M40 vs M42 radiator

Got a 16" SPAL pusher and was getting all set to drop it in while doing the timing belt and:

Realoem has them visually identical, but different part #'s. I've also read anecdotal evidence that the "m40 radiator is a little smaller" but not sure what the size difference actually is.

It seems like others don't have problems fitting these fans on the M42 radiators. What size is the actual core on the M42? M40 core is ~14x15.5"-ish

    M42 core is about 17.5x17.5".

I am shocked that they would bother to have different radiators for those two engines.

Haha well... dammit. It's such a tiny little baby radiator. I'm genuinely dumbfounded by this as well. I need to start up a thread of M40/42 differences that i've found so far with more tourings coming across.

There have been a series of weird part differences.

I also just picked up a 16" pusher (spal) that I'll be dropping in this weekend.. curved blades though.

Any reason why both of you decided to go with pusher fans instead of pullers?

Planning ahead for future space considerations mostly. Going to ride out the M40 for a while, but slowly looking around for m30/60/62 donor vehicles now.

Pusher... to gain space between rad an engine. Will make easier for work down the road
