    AFM difference

So the m42 afm has two different connection styles. One with a round connection and one with a rectangular connection. Anybody know what the difference is? And are they compatible? My car has the rectangular connection but it goes from round to square.
It also has that extra 12" section that im not too sure about what it is. Any ideas?

Show us a picture as I've only ever seen M42s with round AFM connectors.

An extra section in the AFM wiring is a factory ordered fix which includes a signal filter.

Hmmm- maybe that extra 12" section is a spliced cable to adapt a different maf to your engine?
