I recently swapped transmissions (g240 2nd gear went out) and then instead of trying to put the starter back on from underneath i decided to do the "Mess under the intake" and in doing so gain access to my starter from the top so i can bolt it in.
Everything went well (thanks roguetoaster), replaced the plastic water pipe and refreshed some of the coolant lines/vaccuum lines and now the car idles really well. I put the same starter back in, which wasn't having issues before the trans swap, but now i'm getting a loud sound on startup. it doesnt stop the car from starting, and it disappears after starting but during it it sounds like this:
i figure its the starter, maybe not seated on the teeth properly? but I don't know for sure. Any insight would be appreciated. :)
