    Oil Leak AHH!!

I have a bad oil leak some where around the oil filter housing. I am losing about a quart every 2 days. Could it be the oil filter housing thats bad or maybe the gasket? First I thought it was from the oil sensor thats located on the oil filter housing but as I checked around the front area near the belts its leaking more. Can someone help me out with this issue?

First you really need to determine where the leak is originating from .

You can start by taking the car to the carswash and blasting the front of the engine and the oil filter housing area as well .
Or you can also use a few cans of brake clean for the same results .

Then after driving it a day or so keep checking to see where the oil is coming from .

I will try that. But it really doesn't seem to be coming from anywhere else but that area. Its dripping down to the oil pan which is what I thought was the problem at first. The oil isn't dripping down from the head neither its just coming down from the oil filter and straight to the floor. I have changed the oil filter cap ring thinking it was that since it was full of oil around it.

Everything is all set. The problem was the oil filter housing gasket, the o-ring and oil pressure switch. Everything was replaced and now im oil leak free .:knock on wood:

Did you do this yourself? How hard was it? Do you recall what parts you needed?

Yes Its very easy. Just remove the air box and such, Remove the alternator belt and alternator and you will see the bolts right behind there.

Just looking up the Oil filter housing gasket. Should come with the gasket and little O ring seal. I will also change the oil pressure switch as well.

OIl will spill out btw so be ready.
