    320z situation

I recently picked up a dirt cheap 320z trans ($175), the only issue being is its for an awd car. I was hoping to be able to pull the tranfer case off the back and use it for a rwd set up.
I know that plan comes with a lot of extra fabrication, the trans is longer so I would need to shorten the drive shaft and find a way to support the longer output shaft. All of which I am fine doing. I have also been looking around for a blown up zf to steal the output shaft and rear housing from but have not found anything there.
I guess what Im looking for is someone to talk me out of my plan. Is there anything Im overlooking that will blow this up in my face? The last thing I have to verify is that the output flange will mate up to the output shaft.

My other option is just to service the trans and sell it as "rebuilt" and pick up a zf. Probably the sensible choice but now Ive got the other plan in my head I feel like I need to chase it down.
Working...
