    What are ultra-8 axles?

    they are a brand name of replacement axles. I use them in my trucks and Volkswagens all the time

      these last half as long as Used OEM bits. I know from experience. Its a better idea to just replace the boots and grease your old ones.

        I bought a cheapy one for my M3 one time simply because it's hard to resist a brand new halfshaft for under $100. When it arrived, the CV joints were already binding up and did not have free rotation. I took it apart and saw that it had almost no grease in it. I rebuilt it, and packed it will a lot of new grease. After a few weeks of rolling the car in and out of the shop (the car didn't run yet), it completely came apart. I ended up just buying a used one from a member of this forum.

        Also, the bearings in the aftermarket CV joints were smaller than stock.
        So, if anyone wants a shitty aftermarket zero mile halfshaft, I might still have mine.
