This car is not for me to drive

The only reason I have it is because it's an automatic.
I have several other manual Bimmers including a 91 318is.
I bought the car 3 years ago, and the tansmission failed 18 months later. I swapped it and the current transmission lasted another18 months. Not bad for a $50 tranny and three hours to swap it in.
I have access to an E34 92 525i transmission is good shape for $50. Will it fit? If it will give me another 18 months, I would be happy. Or I may swap it in and sell the car.

I've got an auto tranny in Vista if you want it. It leaks like crazy, but otherwise goes through the gears fine. Figure out the leak and you should get plenty of miles out of it.

Do you know where it's leaking from?

Maybe around the filter if that makes sense. I didn't pay attention to what my uncle said when we pulled the block and tranny :)
