fluid? selector? bushings?, syncros? on not of the above

the problem is on an 84 ETA, car runs like a charm, but 2nd gear is not engaging when accelerating, it grinds the gears like a mf. So what i am doing is going from 1st to 3rd and compeately skiping 2nd.
Whenever it 2nd engegaes i have to go slow and really push back the lever and kindda jiggle it while still pushing back on it. then it kicks in, so:

A:bushings
B:syncros
C:fluid
D:bent selector
or
E:none of the above, new suggestion

will be giving the car to my dad, he needs a car to move arround and dont want him struggle with it.

Try options A and C (use Redline MTL), more than likely that should take care of the problem.

Grinding only when trying to engage 2nd is B above. The logical fix is to replace the transmission with one from a salvage yard.

^the suxs, i was hoping fluid and bushings. will drop this weekend and see what comes out.
