    Official Differential Output Thread

I am sorry if there is a thread already but I searched and I didn't find it

I can care less which car came stock with which differential...what I want to know is what speed & rpm's you're currently running; with which differential and which model it is obviously (e/vert/ix/is & i). Please specify LSD or not

    I am running 1987 325is 4.10 LSD M20B25

i'll update this original post with numbers as I get them please do the same to avoid cluttering up

    10mph
    20mph
    30mph
    40mph
    50mph
    60mph=3.5k rpm
    70mph
    80mph
    90mph
    100mph
    110mph
    120mph

There are gearing calculators available. The one I have is a spread sheet from that I got from diffsonline.com. For your car assuming standard sized tires fifth gear speeds would be:

    1000rpm - 20mph
    1500rpm - 31mph
    2000rpm - 41mph
    2500rpm - 51mph
    3000rpm - 61mph
    3500rpm - 71mph
    4000rpm - 82mph
    4500rpm - 92mph
    5000rpm - 102mph
    5500rpm - 112mph
    6000rpm - 123mph
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

why? google "gearing calculator" or "rpm calculator" or something and find 10 sites to do this. they will have boxes to fill in with all the variables. no need for a thread about this.

troll? fuck you, yours is the useless post. he asked "how would my +1 inch wheels affect things?" so i responded. though its the outside tire diameter that matters, not wheel, as im sure you know.
