S14 Sachs Sport Clutch and Getrag 260?

I read someone here paired a Getrag 260 with a Sachs pressure plate, M50 G250 228 mm clutch disc, and 323 TOB.

I've also read that an S14 clutch kit (PP, disc, TOB) can be used with a G260.

I have a fairly fresh S14 clutch kit that I'd like to use, but wanted to see if anyone has successfully run this combination?

Im running an s14pp, m50 solid hub disk, aasco alum. flywheel, and a standard m20 single mass t.o.b. The pedal is noticeably stiffer, so stiff that my used clutch master cylinder can't hold the hydraulic pressure if you leave your foot on the clutch pedal.

Due to running the aluminum flywheel, and a used g260 with some mean "getrag rattle", I am planning on a new clutch master cylinder, and leave my foot on the clutch a little more, my car rattles like crazy when the trans is up to temp....

Overall the setup should work fine, I had part numbers on everything I am running, I will try and dig em up if you need.

      Thanks!

I came upon your post while searching! I guess you were having some problems getting the clutch to disengage, but it seems like you've sorted them out for the most part.

I have a S14 sprung hub clutch disc, an M20 sprung hub clutch disc, and also an M50 regular solid clutch disc, so I guess I'll check them all out for height.

Any reason why you decided to use the M50 clutch disc?

Ah ok, thanks for the info. I assume you're using a single mass flywheel? If so, does it matter if it's from an eta or an i car, if I have a late model i car?

Mine's aftermarket aluminum flywheel, I assume that a shaved single mass I flywheel would be the right choice, dunno about the holy grail 323 flywheel....

              I'm running an M20 i single mass.

Like Matt, I had no problems with S14 components in my 260 gearbox. Alum. 325i-based M20 flywheel, Sachs 228 S14 race p-plate and disk. Unsure on TOB though. I'll have the trans off the car in a few days, I'll try to get p/n's.

I think someone was selling a kit a while back and was using the stock E30M3 TOB. In any case, that's what I ordered, and I will eventually get my hands on a stock "i" flywheel.

whats the difference between an M20 sachs race PP and the S14 race PP? I know the M20 sachs race PP will hold over 300ft/lbs with a stock clutch.

Nando, according to this link they are the same, which makes since considering the 228mm and 3-strap setup on both.

I only know the M20 race PP ends in 618

I guess this is why pressure plates have so many holes on them. To mount up to darn near any flywheel out there. :D

Is that what you've got behind your stroker?

yeah, with the organic sport clutch. It's nice, firm but plenty driveable. I get into my wifes car and hate the clutch feel, or lack thereof..
