    z4 short shifter

    hey everyone.. I got a new z4 short shifter and i installed it..... but wait another problem has to occur:hitler: the bottom of my shifter is hitting the driveshaft.... btw my car is an 84 318.. soo yah i need some help in fixing this problem

    LOL, I had this problem with my Z3M. I did it the ghetto way since mine is a dd. You have the sheet metal console, I bent the tab in the back that the little rubber plunger thing is at. My foam was half deteriorated so I took a piece of it and wedged it in between to prevent vibration. I've been driving it like that for a while now with no issues. The shifter will sit a bit forward though.

      i dont have the sheet metal thing.. i have the aluminum bar from a 91'.

      how would i fix that? lol

          is it hitting the driveshaft or is it hitting the stupid balancer thing that everyone throws away because it sucks?

              You need to either bend the lever or swap it out.
