    5 speed transmission question

OK I have an 86 325es and I am putting in the 2.5 i engine. Are the transmissions for the eta and the i the same other than the dual mass vs single mass flywheel?

              Don't want to start a new thread...so...

Hopefully OP won't mind a minor diversion, but this follows with the subject heading that was a general subject...

Can anyone in here that has extensive knowledge of the E30 history tell me about the different gear ratios for manual transmissions that came on these engines for the M20 engines?

Is it just one gearbox and therefore one set of ratios that came through all the years, or, where there different ratios for different years?

              Alex.

This should help Alex, though where it says G260 under the 90/91 318iS column, it should read g240. The ratios are correct as far as I can see though.
