thickest oil you can run in a getrag 260

Now that summer is hear, and the temps are up, my aluminum flywheeled 260 is just embarrasing when parked next to people at traffic lights. It currently has redline MTL in it, but was curious on whether the trans could take something thicker, ie. 75/80w90?

    redline shockproof?

actually heavy oil isn't goint to help you. your input shaft or layshaft bearings are what's rattling. if you want to "fix" it bump your idle speed up 100rpm or so.
