    Transmission Fluid

I have a Getrag 260 manual transmission, part number 260.0.1346.90, but it does not have a label on it. How can I find out which fluid I should put in it?

    Thanks!

I'm of the opinion that the best fluid for a Getrag 260 is Redline MTL.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

      What about Royal Purple ATF?

That's the only one I can get quickly around here.

I believe Oriley, autozone, pepboys, and advanced auto carry redline if i'm not mistaken. Call a few stores and see if they have a bottle of MTL. From what I've read do not use MT-90

I'll have to search again, but there was a post about why....I was researching this the other day.... and I had decided on Mobil 1 15w50 for engine, MTL for tranny, and redline 75w90 gear oil for the diff....

Good old fashioned gear oil is all you need. If the tranny does not say ATF on it, DO NOT put ATF in it!!
