Can anyone identify this T/O bearing?

    325i or dual mass 325e?

I think you have to take it out of the fork, and stand it up to measure it.

I have to measure the whole thing? I thought it was just from the mating surface to the fork to the bearing surface that mattered?

When I was researching what T/O bearing to use on my 323 fw, the comparisons always showed them standing up, to show the overall length. Though I don't know why the part in the fork would matter, the measurement you are talking about seems to be the more important one. Perhaps jlevie will pop in and school us.

I thought the throw out bearings for the e/i were the same.
They are listed on Pelicanparts as the same anyway. I bought a bearing a long time ago to replace with my e and then used it with my i swap. works fine and I could not tell any differences between the two.

It depends on what flywheel is being used. If you have a dual mass you need a shorter T/O bearing and if your using a single mass you need a longer T/O bearing to reach the diaphragm because the whole assembly is thinner.

Maybe the difference is made up in the pressure plate thickness then.

Just to follow up it was a single mass and the same as the one for an 89 325i that i bought.

They are the same. Was in the exact same scenario. Clutch works great.

that's because the '90 has a dual mass flywheel, earlier years of the 325i have a single mass.
