    tranny bolt help!!!

Ok so i drained the oil in my transmission because its obviously the first thing to do when changing oil...

when i go back to open the filler plug i see that the EFFIN PREVIOUS OWNER
stripped the hex screw and i cant get enough grip to open the plug..

what can i do? i cant drive without tranny oil

This is exactly why you are supposed to always open the filler first.
    Sorry

I forgot, does the fill plug use a allen type wrench, or a normal hex wrench?

i didnt think the 5 speed had an oil pan?

i really cant tell, it was stripped/almost looked like a smooth circle.

                lesson leard.

btw we got oil in there through the drain plug, but in order to take the filler plug out i think ide have to drop the transmission and figure that 1 out.

did you turn the car upside down to fill the tranny? i can't think of another way you could do it through the drain.

haha ill do my best to explain.

we took a funnel and used thick tape around the edge. We then taped the grease gun tube to the tip of the funnel (so if you can imagine a volcano inside the transmission)

Then i held the funnel tight against the drain plug and he pumped MTL in.

After he was done i quickly pulled the funnel out and he plugged it back up. At max it lost like 3oz. of oil

They sell some special sockets at Autozone. There sockets designed to grip stripped bolt heads.

If your car was in my shop I definitely would have been more concerned with fixing the problem than working around it.
