    Reverse Rubs Console

Putting my car into reverse rubs the console and shreds $50 vinyl shift boots from bavauto within weeks.

I recently rebuilt the shift linkage and installed a z3 shift lever, but it still rubs. Do i need to bend the lever? The stock shift leve rubbed too so it shouldn't be a problem with the z3 lever.
West German BMWs, they just don't make the same as they did before the wall fell.
^Case in point: Auto-Repair Technology. Everytime my car isn't starting or acting up I let it sit, sometimes for an hour, sometimes for days. But it eventually fixes itself.

Pretty good distance. Just not sure how to adjust the whole thing over to the right.

You heat up the rod and twist it..You should be able to figure it out.

Mine did this too after I rebuilt the shifter linkage. I cut and rewelded the rod a little offset - worked perfect. I could never understand why this was needed.

I'd start by checking your engine and tranny mounts. They might be bad and the engine/tranny might not be sitting where it should be.
