What size tires are you running? The OE tires are roughly 24" diameter. Many of the popular tires (205/50-15 and 225/45-15) are about 23", which makes a difference. My car with a 3.73 and 205/60-14's (a bit less than 24") is a tad buzzy on the hwy and I'm not doing 80 mph.
I've been dreaming of a taller rear ratio, although mainly because when running auto-x, I'm banging the rev limiter in 2nd gear on every course I've run so far.

I think the 3.73 is actually a happy medium between local and highway driving. I had a G260 mated to a 3.73LSD (aka what comes standard in a 325is) and it was comfortable for the ~400 highway miles I traveled weekly.Leave a comment:

I have a 3.46LSD sitting around to go in mine. The 3.73 spins the motor too high for my taste on 215/40/17. My driving is 75% on the freeway, so I feel your pain.
I will report on the diff when it gets in.Leave a comment:

3.73 is still very high revving for lots of highway use. I'd go lower than that.Leave a comment:

4:10 = Highway Disliker
I have a 4:10 in my daily 89 325is. For someone that does about 70% of his driving on the highway the 4:10 sucks ass. At 80mph I'm around 4000rpm. What do you guys suggest I go with?
