    88 eta trans in an 88 i?

So my 88 325i trans took a shit...R-1-2 are out so I was going to swap the gears from the eta trans into my bell housing. But i was reading the thread on swapping g260s and this one has the shallow bell housing like my i trans so i think the throw out bearing will work. I also have the driveshaft and guibo. The only thing i dont have is the shifter (which is straight) but i have mine which has the bend. Will this work? Thanks in advance, trying to do this tonight/tomorrow.

are you 100% on this? not trying to question your knowledge on the subject but when reading this thread: http://www.r3vlimited.com/board/showthread.php?t=109919 , and when looking at the shifter arms at the yard, the dogbone arm is straight where mine is bent and i think the linkage is longer on the e. im not worried about the driveshaft or the mating to the engine, i know itll mate and the DS will work with one i have, but the shifter...thanks for quick response!

          same

          100% sure

The only thing I'd confirm is the size of the output flange- as long as it's the same as your "i", then you're golden.

I don't think it would/should have the larger flange/guibo, but if it does you'll have to do some mixing and matching to make it work in your car.
