rear u joint keeps going out

Diff will break it's cover if bushing is worn, or fall out of car bc the mounting bolts loose.

If diff k member support bushes dead the pitch may increase to unacceptable angle for driveshaft durability but that would be extreme and probably kill the diff pinion bearing first.

Does your diff have good front bearings?

my 318is had a broken subfram for 2 years and beat around until it ruined the diff bushing and my rear u-joint fixed all that and it was good.

wow i forget about the DS and work on the tranny for a few days and i get a bunch of answers that sound like my original thoughts. awesome haha.

i kind of figured it could be something else than just bad luck. i mean...damn something had to have caused the original one to go out and snap...

from what i remember my diff mount bush looked like it was all in tact. i'll check it again when i go back to my parents house since my cars up on jack stands right now doing the trans work. but from what i remember, the time before last that i checked it and it looked alright. i havent looked at the subframe bushings but i havent noticed anything. when the u joint is nice and fresh, it drives smooth like it should. so...could it be bad luck?
