Quick help with reverse transmission switch

I can't for the life of me find where this switch is. I've checked under the boot to find the switch lead but it's no help.

This diagram suggests it's on the rear of the transmission, but on my 1991 getrag 240 318is I have nothing but the guibo back there.

I have a new switch but where does it go?

See the dual prongs on the passenger side? That is the back up switch.
7/8s wrench does the trick. You can change it with everything bolted in.

P.S. How did you buy one without knowing what is even looks like? I am sure there was a picture or something. Even on realoem there is a picture of it.

On my '91 318i the switch was on the passenger side of the transmission towards the top of the the trans. There is a square shaped recess where it goes. If you reach up and feel around there you'll feel a small, threaded hole. Screw that bitch in, reconnect the plugs, and you're back in business.

I bought it off of pelicanparts, once the rear lights cut out and the bulbs checked out I ordered it. I knew what they looked like but I just had trouble finding where they were. On realoem they show it on the rear and on the side (i didn't see it on the side)
