Clutch was replaced like 30K ago, I didnt feel it slipping every up until this point. The car is my sisters, so its at my parents house right now, I'm going over there after work to drop the tranny and take a look. I have done 3 clutches on the e30 now, so hopefully it will go pretty smoothly....until we find out whats wrong

perhaps the pressure plate shat itself ?

      any weird noises at all?

if 2 rear wheels are in the air (neutral and e-brake dis-engaged) and you turn the driveshaft do the wheels turn? I/e. is your driveshaft/diff/halfshafts functioning?

yes, the diff is functioning, its an open diff, so only one wheel was in the air, but it was moving when I spun the driveshaft (car was in gear too so thats the tranny problem) and vice versa...moved the wheels and driveshaft spun

I'm very interested in what issue you find is the cause. From reading this post I'm thinking my situation is very similar. I haven't yet been able to take my car off stands to see if my gears will engage but same as you I can pretty much go through shifting each gear too easily like if I have the clutch pressed in when it's not and I don't think it was like that before. I'll really appreciate it if you share and post what you find out. Good luck and I hope it's something simple & quick fix!

well I got tickets to the patriots game tonight, so we can rule out any work on the e30, and I will be gone all weekend for the holiday, but I will let you know what happens next week, hopefully the clutch is fine and the transmission took a dump....lot cheaper to pick up a used tranny than a new clutch kit.

welll, theres a new development, I took the starter off so I could get a look at the flywheel. The flywheel does not spin when the driveshaft does, so I do not think the clutch is the problem, it must be an internal transmission problem correct?

The flywheel not turning with the drive shaft with the transmission in gear could still be a clutch problem. You will know more once the transmission is out.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

if it was internal would you feel something different when you shit?

my guess would be something along the linkage, maybe shift fork/clutch fork
