I would guess an early version of a UUC, but I can't say for sure. It's not the newest iteration (EVO 3 I think) though.

Nice find, what did you pick it up for?

Snagged it at pull a part. I have a z3 shifter in my car. I'm debating either using it or selling it

B&M or Ebay copy of a B&M. UUC used modified stock levers from other models (like M Coupe) when they started. I know, I have one of their original Ben Liaw kits with ERK.

What would differentiate an ebay copy with a real B&M? Anything?

Hah! Small world. That was me in front of you at the Pull a Part check out! I remember the short shifter discussion you had with the cashier, who could have gave a crap and just rang it up as a shifter. I saw your car when we pulled out in the parking lot and noticed the Williamson Co. tags cause my family lives there. I just traded my e30 on Thursday and got sad when I saw yours, would have kept mine if it was close to looking as good as that.

Quality control, and the fact that the company wont up and disappear in a couple of months.

Seriously, when something like this is produced in China, then the middle man will run extras and sell them himself.

                    Definitely not UUC.

I concur with the opinions above, appears to be a knockoff of B&M.

I think I have one of those in our trade-in/junk pile :

^^ Fancy that, I just put a UUC one in the junk/trade in pile. To call it junk is relative.

To each their own I guess.

Hey, bring over what ya got. I've got a full transmission test rig where you can fit any shifter. I'll bet money that the UUC is smoother, more precise, and less effort. Then we'll look at them in 10 years and see which has held up better.

                        :)

                          Thanks man :)

Guess I'll get rid of it then, I can't imagine it is compatible with the 6 speed that's going in there anyway.

You so crazy! (And a little bit insulting.)

I don't "sell" anything. I provide facts, evidence, verifiable data on product and offer legitimate comparisons.

If you can't see the difference, especially when I'm offering an opportunity to legitimately compare products in a controlled environment, then there isn't much worth talking about.
