I had a local driveline shop remove the old CSB and press on a new one. When I reinstalled the driveshaft and took the car out for a test drive I almost immediately had a metallic scraping sound that appears to be coming from the new CSB. The question I have is on the alignment of the dust shield on the front, or transmission side, of the CSB. This dust shield is U shaped, and if I remember correctly the flat bottom of the U faced the front of the car with the open end of the U facing the CSB. Is this correct, or am I mistaken?

Problem Resolved
So I took the driveshaft out again today, and found that the rear dust shield was rubbling against the CSB. The driveline shop that pressed the CSB on for me said that this dust shield will sometimes rub and advised me to just take it off the driveshaft. I took the dust shield off, resinstalled the driveshaft, and the noise is gone. -
I left mine off too (I mangled it removing the old CSB), no problems with it gone.Comment
