Clutch pedal doesnt spring back fast, and slippage

I have a an 86 325es with 232k on the odo when it stopped within the past year. The clutch is all original.

My problem is that when I take my foot off the pedal it does not spring back fast at all. I drove my buddys e36 today and it springs back very fast, mine has absolutely no spring back. My clutch also feels like it is slipping, in first and second it is fine once I hit third gear and start to get up in the rpm's the clutch starts to slip. It will rev without putting any power down, then if I let off the throttle it catches. So if I drive slowly there is no problem. but any sort of aggressive driving will cause the clutch to slip.

Are the two problems related? Is a slow releasing clutch pedal the result of a old and worn out slipping clutch?

I read it may be the slave or master cylinder?

Any help is appreciated. I will probably order parts within the next couple weeks and do not want to order the wrong parts! or not enough.

    thanks

It definitely sounds like the clutch is worn out. If original change the clutch master, slave, and soft line when you do the clutch. Those parts may still be working, but at 25 years old and +230k they are due for replacement. When you order parts, include a new clutch fork pivot pin in the list.

I believe your car will have a dual mass flywheel, which can't be resurfaced. You will probably need a new flywheel.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

I contacted blunt and he said that since my car is 04/86 production than it has the single mass flywheel.

you have the super thick ETA early flywheel with protruding sensor pickup then, a 325i flywheel and clutch are different.

Super thick flywheel? Means more weight?

When I change the clutch should I get it resurfaced and have weight shaved off? I was told by. Buddy to pickup a 325i flywheel and use that but you mention that they are different so Idk how that would work.

Wangan, at this point I am trying to save as much money as possible. If you have a clutch, or any parts you could sell me let me know. Pm me.
