You need to unbolt the axles from the case and unbolt the case from the subframe.

Not to mention you need to unplug that speed sensor!

You dont need to remove the differential to remove the springs.

you don't need to drop it either. Do you have a bentley? You need one. The diff does not have to be dropped at all to remove the springs. Put the car on jackstands under the diff carrier. Put the jack under the trailing arm, remove the lower shock bolt. Slowly lower the jack until the spring comes out. I think thats it. Be careful lowering the swing arm, especially with the stock spring in place as it is rather long when uncompressed.

For spring install. (not in order.)

-Remove the bolt holding the shock to the control arm.

                        -Disconnect speed sensor

-Unbolt the sway bar end links from the control arms.

That should drop it enough to get the springs out.

This is incorrect. If you don't remove the rear diff mounting bolt you will put a ton of strain on the axles and bearings. I realized it was an issue when the drivers axle popped out of the diff. lucky I caught it instead of driving like that, otherwise I would be shopping for another lsd and axle.

I've NEVER dropped a diff to change springs. I also recommend unbolting the sway bar links to get the trailing arms to drop a bit more.
