    shifter support carrier removal?

Alright, a friend and i are doing a 5 speed swap. We were at pick and pull yesterday trying to get all the linkages and what not. So i got the shift linkage out and then i unbolted the carrier and tried to wrestle out the part that connects to the trans. i know there is a clip and the retaining pin, but how in the world do you take it out.

Once you pry the clip up (with a flathead screwdriver or other similar object), rotate it as far as you can away from its "locked" position so that it doesnt get hung up on the trans. case After that, the clip + the rod it is attached to should come straight out horizontally on the drivers side.

    I hope that makes sense
