75% lsd on my e30

some dude is selling a 3.74 lsd from an ix does it work to put in on my normal rwd e30? it's daily driven what do you think about e 75% lsd? i doin' doughnuts and slides but will the 75% be too much to bare everyday? should i go with a normal lsd what is the % on that?

75% lock would be a lot when driving on the street and would be pretty noticeable. The OE diff is 40% (if the clutches aren't worn) as I recall.

That would be overkill and cause more issues than benefit in wet conditions.

The ix manual trans came with a 3.93 and the auto trans came with 4.10. They also use a viscous coupling in the rear diff rather than regular clutches. I'm not sure you can rate this as a % lock, but since these are known to do fine in snow and other hazardous conditions, I don't think it would be a problem.

there were also 3.73s and 3.64s in europe

if it's an ix diff, it uses a VC. I wouldn't call it a 75% lock either. it would work just fine though.

it was a 3.91 vlsd in 5 speed ix's

vlsds can provide "100%" lock, but are probably the worse diff for performance driving behind an open diff. they are slow, can overheat, and wear out easily.
