I'm looking for a LSD for my super eta and im new with BMW/RWD. So I found a 3.73 LSD but I dont know if it's a proper one for a car that the rpm goes to 5500. I read that for a eta isn't really good but didn't find anything about seta and my e30 is a summer car/daily

It'd be a little short but totally drivable. Something in the 3.25 to 3.46 range may be a bit better. -
E28 and E24 cars are the most common. You'll just need to swap over to the E30 output flanges and rear cover.Comment

3.15, 3.23 are all avail and Plug and play from MODERN Z3's / Z3M.
dont put in some old crap and expect it to be reliable for a daily driver. Price up the bearings, seals, R&R labor and you wont like buying an ancient diff...OBD1 M54/M52TU swap as a M50b25

I'm sorry but just because a diff is old doesn't mean it's bad or "unreliable". I have a 3,46 LSD in my turbo E30, The diff is from the mid 80's and is silent, locks perfectly, and handles the 270whp.Comment

The bearings and seals do wear on these silly things. Older = old bearings old seals.
I doubt many have changed the seals+bearings AND races of a diff. Its a PITA and more money than buying another secondhand mystery diff...Last edited by Wanganstyle; 04-16-2012, 06:55 PM.OBD1 M54/M52TU swap as a M50b25
