    "Whooshing" after 5-speed swap

So I was cruising around like the bau5 I was yesterday, just minding my own business, when a wild sound from my tranny started to freak me out appeared.

At first there was just the sound of whoosing, then a lot of vibration, but after about 50 miles of driving, the vibration went away (I'm suspecting since I bought a new CSB for the swap, it was the "break in period")

I still have a problem though. Everytime I decelerate from a reasonable speed of maybe 45mph or greater, around 25mph, I starting hearing a whooshing or whirling noise from my transmission/front driveshaft area (right beneath my rear center console). The noise fluctuates intensity depending on how fast I'm going while decelerating (ie, very fast at 25mph, slower at 10mph, almost non apparent at 1mph) I'm not exactly sure what it is now as I no longer have any vibrations from my CSB. Could it be bad u-joints..? Guibo is rubbing against something? (I'm running a bent Z3 1.9 shifter, but last I checked, those needed no modification tothe connecting rod for clearance of the guibo/harmonic balancer)

I am also not running a harmonic balancer (the cup that goes over and "protects" the guibo). Could that lead to a problem now/in the future?

Hmm.. It seems more driving has solved my problems. I guess this was just a "breaking in period" for all my new/new used parts. No more whooshing, and minimal, to almost no vibrations, even when at 100% throttle.

    Problem solved.

There is no "break in period for driveline components. Get under your car and check to see if something is loose before something bad happens.

Check your tranny fluid. Also check your tranny mounts...

I checked just in case earlier today since I had free time. There is nothing loose, and I made sure to check. There are no more vibrations, and there is no more whooshing. I even had a friend of mine who has been working on these cars for a while double check after I left work today. He said everything is a-okay.

The tranny isn't my problem; obviously there is no break in period for a tranny that has already had 140k miles put on it. However.. A brand new front driveshaft/CSB? I think there's a possibility..
The fluid was just recently changed.. Just axemehowinoe.. ;)
