Late model trans on early model car?

    Late model trans on early model car?

    Will it work? Lookin for a 5 speed and can only seam to find late model g260's.

      It would help if you were more specific on which model you have and which trans you want to use.

        By early car I assume that you mean a 325e, in which case you can use a transmission from any 325e (up to 8/87). But not a transmission from 325i. The M20B27 (ETA) engine has timing sensors in the bell housing, but M20B25 engines use an engine mounted timing sensor. So you have to have a transmission that has the mounting points in the bell housing.
        The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

          Thanks guys. Sorry about not adding in more specifics. Guess the trans I am getting today won't work to me. I'll har to pass it on to someone ells.
