    Clutch / PP "holding power/torque" list - OEM/Sachs kits

What are the holding power / torque for the various Clutch kits that are out there for an M20 with the single-mass flywheel (228 diameter)? I know that the OEM stock parts are "fine" (for most applications) and that Sachs "Sport" is "more", but how much is "fine" and how much is "more"?

So, if anyone knows... what are the torque #s for....
    • Stock 325i PP with stock disc (kit p/n 21-21-1-223-102-M38 ):
    • Stock M3 PP with stock M3 disc (kit p/n 21-21-2-226-854-M38 ):
    • Sachs "Sport" PP with stock M3 disc (PP p/n 88-3082-999-618-M410, disc p/n 21-21-2-226-841-BOE):

I did a bunch of searching on here, e30tech and google and haven't been able to find the answer, so I figured it was time to ask.

Before anyone asks, no I do not have a highly modified engine; this is for my ChumpCar, and yes, I know the "stock engine, stock clutch is OK' mantra. I would think that a stock setup would be fine, but the car is using up clutches and at least some of the reason appears to be excessive heat, likely caused by slipping. Therefore, I'm looking at a few stock-part options and want to see what is worth it and what could work.

I have to wonder if something is wrong. There are a number of SpecE30's that are using the stock single mass wheel and the OE clutch without experiencing premature clutch failure. A bad clutch soft line or the wrong slave cylinder are possibilities.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

There may be something wrong that I haven't found yet (I have another thread up on that topic). All parts should be the correct ones; engine, trans and slave all came out of a single car that was street driven with no issues. New master, slave and soft line are going on the car since I'm pretty sure all those parts are original.

I agree that a stock clutch should work just fine, but since I have to replace the clutch, I am looking at options. A bit more clamping pressure / holding pressure should provide less slip and help to keep overall heat down in the disc over the course of a 7, 14 or 25 hour race. I don't need the hold more torque, but I do want to increase the reliability.
